The two high values of the 1966 Butterfly definitive issue were reprinted in August 1967.
This printing was necessary because the original printing was sold out after an unusual short period. One had assumed that the issue would be sufficient for four years. The original plates had already been destroyed. Even with careful work, the new plates give rise to a number of small varieties. We will show here the clearest differences.
The stamps of both printings are organized side by side, so that an allocation should cause so no more difficulties.
SG91 first printing: Veins in the wings are sharp and clear, leaves tinted blue
SG91 second printing: Veins in the wings are less clear, leaves clearly lighter in colour.
SG 92 first printing: Eyes are not joined to the body, feelers are quite bold
SG 92 second printing: Eyes are joined to the body, feelers are not quite so bold
