The ING is a group of avid collectors of stamps and postal history of the island of New Guinea.
The collecting area of New Guinea is very extensive. It comprises German New Guinea, British New Guinea and Dutch Indies as well as New Guinea, Papua, Dutch New Guinea, Papua New Guinea, UNTEA, Irian Barat and Indonesia.
The ING is a group of German speaking collectors who are avid collectors of the stamps and postal history of New Guinea. The Society was founded in 1971 and has over 100 members, who are not only living in Germany but all over the world including Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the UK, Norway, USA, Canada, Namibia, Japan, Singapore, Australia and Papua New Guinea.
The quarterly magazine of the ING is called 'Papua Post' and does not only cover philately but also politics, culture and environment. Many of the members of the ING visited the island or worked there. Therefore the journal contains a wealth of inside information.
Our internet presence offers insights into an exotic and fascinating collecting area that even today offers ample opportunities for genuine research. Members of the ING have a special members area on this website.
